Overview

Our client, a fast growing insurance firm, is seeking a HR Business Partner in their Los Angeles, CA office. The right candidate will have 8+ years of HR experience and a working knowledge of multiple HR disciplines. The HR Business Partner position is responsible for providing Employee Relations support to their assigned business units in the areas of performance management, talent management, organizational planning, employment policies and employee relations.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with leaders in respective region and at a corporate level
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the HR department to develop policies, programs, and solutions
  • Maintain awareness of the culture, plans, financial position, and competition of the business units under the HR purview
  • Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to regional employees and managers (coaching, career development, performance improvement plans, etc.)
  • Mediate and resolve employee relations issues; conduct thorough and objective investigations when necessary
  • Develop and nurture partnerships through human resources to bridge the divide between management and employees
  • Find ways to build morale, improve workplace relationships, and boost productivity and retention
  • Ensure regulatory compliance with legal requirements pertinent to the day-to-day management of employees; collaborate with the legal department when necessary
  • Advise and educate employees on existing benefits
  • Analyze data trends and metrics to inform business decisions (employee compensation and benefits program)
  • Partner with Talent Acquisitions team to effectively recruit for open positions and oversee orientation and onboarding for new hires
  • Identify training needs and create or procure professional development curriculum
  • Monitor training programs to ensure that training objectives are met

 

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources or related discipline preferred;
  • PHR, SHRM-CP or other HR related professional certifications preferred;
  • 8+ years of HR experience and a working knowledge of multiple HR disciplines;
  • Merger & acquisition experience required;
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite programs;
  • Ability to effectively leverage HR technology;
  • Must have advanced interpersonal skills required to handle sensitive and confidential information
