Our client, a well-known Financial Services firm, is seeking an Employee Relations Specialist to join their New York City office.
Provide advice and counsel on complex issues in an effort to reduce complaints, charges, litigation and related costs.
Advise on complex performance management and restructuring, policy violations, EAP issues, etc.
Investigate employment related discrimination complaints internally to minimize risk/liability and to create a more positive work environment
Conduct and oversee investigations and respond to complaints of alleged harassment, discrimination, and other complaints filed with various state and federal agencies as necessary
Ensure compliance with governmental and other regulations
Partner with Employment Attorney on related lawsuits on strategy and preparation of supporting documentation
Lead and participate in the development of competitive business aligned HR policies (vacation, performance management, Family Medical Leave, etc.)
Lead products to include research, analysis and preparation of presentation on proposed policy or practice changes
Conduct training on ER related topics, create ER tools for Managers and HR Business Partners
8+ years HR experience; 5+ years employee relations experience
Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree
Insurance and/or finance industry related experience
