Overview

Our client, a well-known Financial Services firm, is seeking an Employee Relations Specialist to join their Charlotte office.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide advice and counsel on complex issues in an effort to reduce complaints, charges, litigation and related costs.

  • Advise on complex performance management and restructuring, policy violations, EAP issues, etc.

  • Investigate employment related discrimination complaints internally to minimize risk/liability and to create a more positive work environment

  • Conduct and oversee investigations and respond to complaints of alleged harassment, discrimination, and other complaints filed with various state and federal agencies as necessary

  • Ensure compliance with governmental and other regulations

  • Partner with Employment Attorney on related lawsuits on strategy and preparation of supporting documentation

  • Lead and participate in the development of competitive business aligned HR policies (vacation, performance management, Family Medical Leave, etc.)

  • Lead products to include research, analysis and preparation of presentation on proposed policy or practice changes  

  • Conduct training on ER related topics, create ER tools for Managers and HR Business Partners

Qualifications

  • 8+ years HR experience; 5+ years employee relations experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree

  • Insurance and/or finance industry related experience
